Where Should I Start?

Where Should I Start?

  1. Beginners should start in the Key of C. Play the daily exercises at a slow tempo (For Beginners). Focus on making a good sound, with good swing, and connecting the lines. Then, move on to another key as all are probably unfamiliar at this point.
  2. Intermediates should start on the key areas they are the most unfamiliar/uncomfortable. You can play in C & F. Great! We make the biggest gains when we work on the things we're NOT good at. When playing in keys you are unfamiliar with, be sure to START with the slow tempo (For Beginners) video before moving on to the medium tempo (For Intermediate). Then continue around the Circle of 4ths/5ths
  3. Advanced players should start on their weakest keys using the medium tempo (For Intermediate) until their is more comfort at that tempo. From their, move on to the fast tempo (For Advanced). Then continue around the Circle of 4ths/5ths.
